Our Story

KEY Forwarding was founded in 2005 in Sancaktepe, Istanbul. In those early years we focused on one thing: delivering cargo from Turkey to the Balkans and Western Europe by road, on time and undamaged. The Bulgaria, Romania, Greece and Germany lanes have remained our busiest routes ever since.

As our customers' needs grew, so did our services. We added sea freight for distant markets, air freight for urgent and high-value cargo, and customs clearance for export and import formalities, followed by warehousing and last-mile delivery. Today the same team handles shipments of every size, from a single pallet to full export container loads, with the same operational discipline.

Who We Serve

Most of our customers are manufacturers and trading companies that export regularly from Turkey to Europe and neighboring markets. Textiles, automotive components, machine parts, furniture and processed food are among the cargo we move most often. Our refrigerated vehicles also allow us to take on food and pharmaceutical shipments that require temperature control.

We scale solutions built for large operations down to smaller volumes. An SME sending a few pallets a week and a manufacturer loading a full truck every week are looked after by the same team, with the same care. For first-time exporters, we explain the process step by step, from paperwork to delivery.

How We Work

Transport and customs under one roof

The team that plans your shipment also handles the customs formalities. That keeps document delays, truck waiting times and coordination errors between parties to a minimum.

A dedicated contact who knows your file

Every customer is assigned an operations manager. Your questions go not to a general call center but to the person who is tracking your shipment.

Real-time tracking

You can see the latest position of your cargo at any time. We keep you informed at border crossings and on delivery.

Insured transport

Carrier liability under the CMR Convention does not cover the full value of the goods. For high-value or fragile cargo, we recommend and arrange additional cargo insurance.

Fleet and Infrastructure

We use our own fleet for road transport, which gives us direct control over loading dates and vehicle condition. The fleet also includes ATP-certified refrigerated vehicles for temperature-controlled food and pharmaceutical loads. For sea and air freight, we compare the shipping lines and airlines that suit your cargo and manage the whole process, from booking to delivery.

Our operations are run from our headquarters in Sancaktepe, Istanbul, where route planning, customs documentation and customer communication all come together.

Quality and Information Security

KEY Forwarding holds ISO 9001:2015 quality management system and ISO 27001 information security management system certifications. Commercially sensitive documents such as customs declarations, invoices and customer data are processed and stored within this framework. We organize shipments by road, sea and air to more than 80 countries. Typical road transit times for a full truckload from Istanbul are 1–2 business days to Bulgaria and 4–7 business days to Germany; sea freight takes 12–20 days depending on the port of destination, and air freight 1–3 days.
