The main leg ends at a terminal, a port or an airport. It does not end at your customer. The final stage decides whether a shipment that arrived on time is actually delivered on time, and while it is rarely the largest cost element it accounts for a disproportionate share of complaints: missed delivery windows, no unloading equipment, nobody at goods-in.

We handle final delivery in both directions — within Türkiye for inbound shipments and domestic distribution, and from the arrival terminal in Europe through to your consignee's door.

Delivery options

Dock delivery

The B2B standard. The consignee provides labour and unloading equipment. A confirmed goods-in time slot is the prerequisite.

Tail lift delivery

Where no loading dock exists. Must be ordered in advance — not every vehicle is equipped, and a late request means a second visit.

Booked appointment

We contact the consignee before dispatch and agree a time. Reduces failed deliveries at sites without a permanent goods-in function.

Sites and special locations

Construction sites and premises without regular goods reception. Requires access, vehicle size and unloading method to be agreed beforehand.

Why deliveries fail

From experience, nearly every failed delivery has one of four causes, and all four are avoidable in advance.

Common obstacles and what we establish before the vehicle leaves
ObstacleCleared in advance
No time slot bookedRequest the goods-in window and build it into the route plan
No dock and no tail liftConfirm the unloading method and allocate a suitable vehicle
Access too restrictedMatch vehicle size to the access, transship to a smaller vehicle if needed
Wrong contact detailsRecord a named contact with a working phone number per delivery address

We therefore ask these four questions when the order is placed. A failed delivery costs considerably more than the minute the question takes.

Proof of delivery and liability

Every delivery is documented with a proof of delivery recording the recipient, the time and any notes on condition or quantity. Where the consignee raises a reservation it is recorded on the document — in any later damage claim that record is the decisive evidence, because reservations are very difficult to establish after the fact.

On liability: in international road transport the carrier's liability under the CMR Convention is capped at 8.33 SDR per kilogram. For high-value or lightweight goods the actual value is usually far above that, meaning CMR liability will not cover the loss. Full cover requires separate cargo insurance, and we raise this on shipments where the gap is material rather than leaving it in the small print.

How it connects to the main leg

We plan delivery backwards from your required date rather than as a separate exercise. On road shipments the delivery window forms part of the route plan. On sea freight it depends on container release and the demurrage clock. On air freight it depends on import clearance being completed. Where goods ship from warehouse stock, the delivery date can be controlled most precisely of all.

Frequently asked questions

Is a delivery appointment arranged in advance?

On request, yes. We contact the consignee before dispatch and agree a time, which is advisable for sites without a permanent goods-in function or for residential addresses. Where the consignee operates booked delivery windows we plan arrival to the window, but we need to know it when the order is placed because it shapes the whole route plan.

What happens if the consignee has no unloading facility?

A vehicle with a tail lift is required, and that has to be allocated in advance since not every vehicle is equipped. If the need only emerges on arrival the result is a failed delivery and a second attempt, with the associated cost. This is why we ask about the unloading method as standard when the order is placed.

Will I receive proof of delivery?

Yes, every delivery is documented with the recipient name, time and any notes on quantity or condition. If the consignee raises a reservation it is recorded on the document, and in any subsequent damage claim that record is the decisive evidence — reservations are very hard to establish once the vehicle has left.

Do you deliver to residential addresses?

Yes, with an agreed appointment. Residential addresses generally have no loading dock, so a tail lift vehicle is usually needed and sometimes a smaller vehicle because of access. We plan for both when the address is known to be residential, so please flag it when placing the order.

How is the cargo insured on the final leg?

Statutory carrier liability applies, capped in international road transport at 8.33 SDR per kilogram under the CMR Convention. For high-value or lightweight goods the actual value is normally well above that, so CMR liability will not make you whole. Separate cargo insurance is required for full cover, and we raise it proactively on shipments where the difference matters.
